Traditionally mined diamonds create stadium-sized holes on the Earth's surface. This practice displaces wildlife, contaminates soil, and pollutes water sources for native populations. The heavy machinery releases significant amounts of carbon emissions. This unsustainable practice is a lose-lose for the planet and all lifeforms.
Our moissanite is never mined from the Earth. In fact, moissanite is extremely special and rare because it was actually brought here by a meteor strike. Over time, scientists developed a break-through thermal process to grow the silicon carbide crystals that make up moissanite. It takes 2-3 months to grow a single stone in these highly controlled labs. It is an environmentally friendly and sustainable process.
